The Crib

It seems like our sweet easy going Isaac is now turning into a mischievous toddler. Over the past week we have had to remove our dishwasher to get utensils which Isaac shoved between it and the counter, and remove the air intake for the furnace to get puzzle pieces. Today has been my favorite though. Isaac learned how to climb out of his crib. I put him down for a nap and about 10 minutes later I heard a thud and there was Isaac. I tried to get him to take a nap again and he just crawled out again. Maybe he will get a crib tent for Christmas.

The Diaper

We had an eventful day today. I put Isaac down for his nap like I usually do. I heard him jumping in his bed so I went in and told him that he needed to go to sleep. About 10 minutes later I heard him calling for me. I finally went in and he had taken off his pants and diaper. So, I thought that I would out smart him and duck tape the top of his diaper. I let him play for a little bit and tried the whole routine again. The same thing happened. After 30 minutes of quite he started calling for me again. Somehow he had pulled his diaper off leaving the duck tape around his waist. How he did this I don't know. So, I think that I am going to try oneszies tomorrow.

Santa

Isn't it funny that Santa is for kids, but most kids are scared to death of him. Well, it is no different for my kids. We saw Santa this weekend and neither one of my kids would talk to him. We finally talked Aubrey into sitting on his lap at the Christmas party, but Isaac would have nothing to do with him.

Bethlehem

The other night we went to a friend's church which was set up like Bethlehem. Isaac didn't take a nap that day so he was pretty cranky, but Aubrey had fun.

Turkey

Everything that my husband cooks always turns out wonderful...it is getting to the end that is some times tricky. Well, this was true for Thanksgiving. Jeremy wanted to cook the and I was a little skeptical, but let him. He also wanted to play football in the morning so I told him that I would stay home and put the turkey in the oven. The recipe said to cook the turkey for 30 minutes at 500. So I put the turkey in and after about 10 minutes the house started to fill up with smoke. After another 5 minutes the fire alarm started to go off. While the fire alarm was going off Shera, who was coming over for dinner, called. I couldn't find the phone so I had to answer the speaker phone. So, in the background she hears the fire alarm going off and she asks if there is anything that I need her to get at the store. I am sure that she wanted to buy a pre-cooked turkey just in case. Well, we finally got the house cleared out and the fire alarm off. And Jeremy's turkey turned out wonderful. We hope that you had a happy and uneventful Thanksgiving!

Leaves

Do you remember how fun it was to rake leaves? Well, I am learning that it is not so much fun when you are an adult. We spent hours last Saturday raking leaves only to have the lawn look about the same that evening. At least the kids had fun.

Happy Halloween

After what seemed like a week of Trick or treating and two gallon size Ziploc bags full of candy we are finally done. Isaac would not put any candy in his bag, he insisted on holding every piece of candy. After a couple of house he would look in the candy basket and if they had something better he would trade them for one of the candies in his hand. Not sure it is the most efficient system, but when you are 18 months you have to fight for your candy. After we got home from trick or treating Aubrey spent the next 10 minutes running circles in our drive way yelling "To infinity and beyond." I think that she had a little to much candy. Here are some pictures of the kids. I think that the kids had the most fun having their Maryland Grandma here.

We love Austin in the Fall

I love seeing every one's pictures of their kids bundled up. While the rest of you are turning on your heaters we have our air conditioner blowing. Here in Austin it was 95 today. Aubrey and Isaac enjoyed some bike riding time yesterday. In all honest, I do miss the New England falls. By the way...Go Sox!

Carnival

This weekend we went to a carnival at what Aubrey calls her "Kindergarten School." The kids had lots of fun. Isaac won the cake walk...he was not really sure what that meant, but was happy to get a cookie out of it. They got to fish. We are now the lucky winners of two erasers. I am not sure why they gave an 18 month old an eraser. Isaac immediately tried to eat his. Maybe they gave it to him so he can help clean the pencil off the walls.

Interpretation: "Mom, I am in the middle of jumping. Please don't bug me."

Chuck E. Cheese

On Friday night we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Isaac's favorite ride was the truck...he is 100% boy. Aubrey loved the virtual roller coaster.

Sunday

Looks can be deceiving. By these pictures, you would think that we have very well behaved children at church.

Art class 101

Aubrey is offering art classes for any interested. All you need is a marker (dark colors work the best).

After scrubbing her face multiple times (which only seemed to smear the marker all over her face) we decided to take her to the pool. After an hour of swimming it came off.

The Pages

Well, everyone is doing this so I thought that I better get on the band wagon. I just found out what a blog was so we'll see how this goes. Hope you enjoy hearing about our family.
