The results

We had our ultrasound yesterday and we are having a little boy. The baby looks healthy and quite active. Aubrey handled the news pretty well. Isaac said, "it's not a gill." I am not sure he really understands, he just knows that he won an argument with Aubrey.

Is she pregnant or has halloween been really good at the Pages house

It seems like every time we are around friends their eyes seem to drift to my ever increasing midsection. Everyone has been afraid to ask if I have been eating to much Halloween candy(which I probably have been doing) or if I am pregnant. We are expecting our third baby on the 10Th of April. Who knows maybe it will be the third one in our family to be born on April 3rd. We find out tomorrow what the gender of the baby is. Aubrey is convinced that it is going to be a little girl and I am afraid that there are going to be some tears if it is not. The kids have picked out some names. The list of names includes King Triton, Thomas, or Prince Charming if it is a boy and if it is a girl Aubrey wants it to be Ariel, Tinker Bell or Aurora.

Halloween

Here are some pictures of the kids. Aubrey was Sleeping Beauty and Isaac was Buz lightyear. Every year we forget to buy "Texas" costumes. Isaac was like a wrestler in a sweat suit. Every time we went some where in his costume he always asked to take it off soon after. He was all sweaty after we took it off.

Hook 'em horns

A couple of weeks ago one of Jeremy's professors had tickets to the UT-Arkansas(sorry for those of you Arkansas fans, Matt) game that he gave to us. We went and had a blast. Here is my list of things that I have learned about UT football games.

1. You must wear burnt orange. I was surprised to see the diversity of burnt orange clothes. Who know that they made burnt orange tube top dresses?

2. If you sit in the student section, don't plan to actually sit for the whole game.

3. Don't bring your kids to the student section. We decided that we would go to a game first by ourselves and then take the kids later. We don't plan on taking our kids to a UT football game any time soon!

4. Everything is bigger in Texas. They were selling foot long corn dogs.

Here is a picture of Jeremy and I after sitting in the hot sun for 3 hours.

Sharing a bedroom

Sleeping, or should I say the lack of, has been a big issue in our house since Aubrey was born. For about a year we have finally gotten our kids to sleep through the night. In May we decided to have them share rooms. For the last five months one of us has been laying on their floor until they go to sleep. So, we finally put a stop to that. We had family home evening and talk to them about it. We even went into the bedroom and had them practice. The whole FHE totally bombed. They didn't want to listen to any of it. We were pleasantly surprised to find them like this when we went to check on them.

It was one of those moments that makes you love being parents.

Preschool

Aubrey started preschool a couple of weeks ago. She was a little nervous becasue two of her best friends moved. Once she got there she was really excited to start. I can't believe that she will be starting kindergarten in just one year. Scary!

More summer pictures

My Mom recently told me that I need to update my blog with pictures from our trip. So here are some pictures for Colorado.

We went horse back riding while we were in there. This is as close as Aubrey came to riding the horse. She would rather walk the horse around the arena.
Isaac rode around the arena a couple of times and then decided that he would rather throw dirt then ride a horse.

Staple Head

Well..it finally happened. We are grateful that we have been able to get through two boy years without a trip to the ER. Yesterday Isaac was at the park and another kid threw a rock and hit him in the head. I took him to the ER and they put two staples in his head. I am afraid that the worst is yet to come...removal of the staples. They told me to come back in a week to get them removed. Isaac is doing well now, he acts like nothing has happened. Thanks everyone for your thought and concern!

What I have learned:

1. Head wound bleed A LOT!

2. You only have to call an ambulance if they pass out. Isaac started to pass out and I got freaked out, but calmed down before I called 911.

3. Little boys are tough. I think that I would have screamed if I saw a doctor coming at me with staples in hand.

Here is a picture of the wound.

Better late than never

I feel like this is the story of my life. Here are the happenings from the Pages in the past two months.

-Aubrey had her end of the year preschool party. They learned jokes to tell in front of the parents. She is constentely telling jokes. Isacc thinks that they are the funniest things. They usually go something like this. "What did the crab say to the hair." Before you have a chance to answer she says,"I'll pinch you"

-Jeremy had his 30th birthday. I can't believe that we are getting that old. We had a surprise birthday party that him Mom came to from Maryland. He had no idea that she was even in town. You should have seen the look on his face.

-Jeremy studied, slept and ate occasionally and then studied more.

-We had our Mom's in town for a total of 3 weeks. While Jeremy was studying for the comprehensive exams we played.

-Said goodbye to our friends who graduated and took jobs. Good Luck!
-We took a week to recover from company

-Went to Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, and St. George.

Here is the first batch of pictures.
This is what Isaac thought about the party. He threw himself down on the ground and cried. Isn't it great to be 2.

The Verdict

Jeremy found out yesterday that he passed his comprehensive exam. He is now officially a PhD candidate. 2 years down 3 to go.

The Comps

Jeremy took the comprehensive exam today. This test reviews all of the material they have covered while he has been at school here. He felt like they went well and we should find out in a week if he is officially a PhD student. We'll keep you posted. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers today!

Stinkiest Cities of the U.S.

When we first moved to Austin 2 years ago Jeremy read a study produced by Old Spice to determine the stinkiest cities. This study was based on how much people in the city sweat. Austin came in at #9 and we were smelling it today. Here is a link to the study in case you are curious http://www.digihitch.com/usa389.html So to prevent from adding to the stink we went swimming. Here is a picture of Isaac and the first time he wore goggles. Happy Summer!

Life doesn't get much better than...

A day at the lake. We spent Saturday at the lake swimming, playing volleyball and playing little mermaid (Aubrey and her friends were the only one who played little mermaid).

Hook 'em horns

You know you are becoming a Texans if:
1. You own a burnt orange piece of clothing. Who would normally wear this color?
2. You know the words to the Texas anthem...I never knew there was such a thing
3. You teach your kids to do the "hook em horns" with their fingers. It is almost a natural movement for Aubrey's fingers now.
4. You start to say Y'all
5. Your kids know what a long horn looks like.

Last weekend we went a Longhorn preseason game. We are going to get season tickets this season so if anyone wants to come to a game just let us know!

Herd Ball

Aubrey started soccer last Saturday. All of the kids ran around in a herd kicking each other. It was pretty cute. Aubrey didn't that that it was very fun.
This is how she spent most of the game...having one of us hold her.
After we got her on the field she scowled at us most of the time to let us know that she was not happy about playing soccer. The ball rolled past her a couple of times and she didn't even try to kick it. We bribed her with a treat so hopefully she will like it more next time.

Thank you

Thank you everyone who called us, gave us treats and gifts, and emailed us for our birthday. Aubrey and I had a great birthday. She truly was the best birthday gift I have ever had.

A birthday would not be complete with out dress ups!

Happy Birthday Aubrey

We had Aubrey's birthday party last weekend. She had a pajama princess party...I love that everything has to be princess at this stage. All of the kids wore their PJ's and I made her a barbie princess cake.

Camping

For spring break we went camping. It has been 5 years and 2 kids since I have been camping. I have to admit that I was terrified to take my kids camping. Many of you know that my kids are not great sleeper and I was afraid what would happen when we all had to sleep in the same tent. Well, we didn't get 8 hours of sleep, but we had a fabulous time. We went with 3 other families...there was a total of 9 kids. This is us at the end of our camping excursion.

I wish that my kids would clean like this at home!

One of our friends brought a teather ball game. Isaac thought that this we pretty cool.

Happy birthday Isaac

Isaac turned two on Wednesday. Here are a couple of pictures from his party.

Aubrey had the hardest time watching Isaac opening the presents. I think that she probably opened 1/2 of the presents. yes...if you are wondering if that is a big metal wall in the background you are right. Only in Texas would someone do this to their house. Some day when Jeremy is not writing papers or providing slave labor for his professors we are going to take it down.

I asked Isaac what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday and he said a Pizza cake. So, here is my attempt to make a pizza cake.

This is Isaac and Aubrey after cake, Ice Cream and lots of candy...to much sugar for Aubrey.

Grandpa's visit

Jeremy's Dad was able to come visit for a weekend. Here are some pictures of his visit.
We took the kids to the Children's Museum.

I think that Jeremy had the most fun at the museum.

Valentine's Day

Aubrey's friend invited her over for a Valentine's tea party. All of the girls dressed up in their dress ups, painted their fingernails and drank pink lemonade. Aubrey was in heaven. I have to admit that it was pretty cute. Poor Isaac was the only boy there. He entertained himself by playing basketball.

Yoghurt

What do you get when you leave your two year old at the table with yoghurt while you talk on the phone?

We went from 8:30 chruch to 10:30...need I say more? We had a couple of minutes to take a quick picture of our kids today.

Better late then never

Jeremy's parents came out to visit around New Year's eve. We went to the Texas State history museum...Texans are proud of their past. While we were there we saw a 3-D imax. The kids love and are still talking about it. Here are some pictures of the dorky classes.

Next American Idol

Jeremy's family always has their kids earn their Christmas eve present by singing a song. We decided to continue this tradition. Here is some footage of Aubrey's song. In case you couldn't tell she is Away in a Manger. Isaac's will follow.

Christmas Eve

This was our first year spending Christmas all by ourselves and we had a great time. On Christmas eve we went to some friends house and had dinner and acted out the nativity. Aubrey, Isaac and Grant(our friends little boy) were shepard's. Jeremy and I were Mary and Joseph.

Pre-Christmas

We have been so busy with the holidays that I have not updated our blog. So here are some pictures of us.
The city puts on a really nice light display so we went and saw that. We had to park in a parking lot and ride a city busy over there. I think the kids had more fun riding "Daddy's busy" then the lights.
